Arcade along Piazza di San Marco
Campanile di San Marco stands in the piazza near the front of the basilica. It has a golden weather vane in Archangel Gabriel's form atop its pyramidal spire.

The Clock Tower stands on the north side of the piazza. It was built in the late 15th century in the early Renaissance style.

The Lion of Venice - figure of a winged lion in bronze cast during the Tang Dynasty and brought to Venice by Niccolò and Maffeo Polo (Marco Polo's father and uncle, respectively). It is a symbol of Saint Mark and of the city of Venice.
